Mona Oikawa is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies at York University. Her research interests include critical race and cultural studies, the internment of Japanese Canadians, and Canadian settler colonialism. She is currently researching Japanese Canadians’ relationship to Canadian settler colonialism. Her book, Cartographies of Violence: Japanese Canadian Women, Memory and the Subjects of the Internment, was published by University of Toronto Press in 2012. She is co-editing a collection of essays, The Politics of Redress, with Kirsten Emiko McAllister and Roy Miki.
